Who are the Forest Declaration Assessment Partners?

In 2015, the NYDF Assessment Partners were formed as an independent civil society initiative to monitor progress toward the NYDF’s global goals. What began as a coalition of six organizations has grown into a diverse network of research institutes, think tanks, NGOs, and advocacy groups spanning the globe—now known as the Forest Declaration Assessment Partners. Coordinated and convened by Climate Focus, the network also works closely with collaborators from academia, multilateral institutions, and governments.
Achieving the 2030 forest goals requires joint effort and accountability. The Assessment Partners promote transparency and evidence-based action, combining their expertise to deliver independent analyses that track progress and identify solutions. Together, they form a powerful coalition for research, outreach, and advocacy—stronger than the sum of its parts.

Coordinating team

The Forest Declaration Assessment is coordinated by Climate Focus, which serves as the initiative's secretariat. The coordinating team leads the development of the annual Assessment report, manages collaboration across partner organizations, and oversees publication and communications.
