COP30 Deforestation Roadmap Submission

In April 2026, the Forest Declaration Assessment submitted a formal response to the COP30 Presidency’s call for inputs to the Roadmap for halting and reversing deforestation and forest degradation by 2030. The Roadmap is a critical opportunity to move from high‑level forest commitments toward concrete, accountable action—particularly in addressing commodity‑driven deforestation, aligning finance and trade with forest goals, and strengthening governance and land rights.

Our letter sets out priority actions and leverage points that we believe are essential for turning the 2030 ambition into implementable national and subnational commitments. The content of our submission is entirely drawn from the Priority Actions for Governments and the Priority Actions for DCF Finance, two agenda-setting documents developed and endorsed by dozens of civil society organizations to catalyze a transformative shift in the trajectory of global forest loss.
