Agribusiness and agricultural commodity supply chains remain the leading driver of global deforestation—and play a decisive role in shaping outcomes for forests, ecosystems, and communities. The 2030 Global Forest Vision: Priority Actions for the Private Sector: Agribusiness sets out practical steps that companies across agricultural value chains can take to align production, sourcing, and investment with global forest goals.

These actions include addressing deforestation, degradation, and ecosystem conversion as a foundation of climate and nature strategies; prioritizing high-risk, high-impact geographies, suppliers, and commodities; investing in landscape resilience through pre-competitive, farmer-centered partnerships; and leveraging corporate voice and influence to strengthen the enabling environment for action. Developed through extensive multi-stakeholder engagement and a review of successful policies and practices, this agenda provides a roadmap for driving measurable progress toward the 2030 Global Forest Vision.

This publication was developed collaboratively by partners of the Forest Declaration Assessment, coordinated by Climate Focus, in consultation with companies, investors, standards bodies, and civil society organizations working to advance deforestation- and conversion-free agricultural supply chains.
