2030 GLOBAL FOREST VISION

Uniting action to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030

What is the 2030 Global Forest Vision?

World leaders have pledged to end deforestation by 2030, but progress remains far off track. The 2030 Global Forest Vision offers a roadmap to change course—focusing the forest community on clear priority actions that rally governments, finance, and civil society around the most urgent and catalytic steps. Developed through broad consultation and endorsed by leading organizations, the Vision translates global commitments into a practical framework for accountability and action.

Grounded in accountability

The Vision builds on the Forest Declaration Assessment, a civil-society led initiative tracking global progress on forests since 2015. The Assessment provides the evidence base; the Vision translates it into a practical call to action.

Priority Actions: Turning vision into action

The case protecting forests is clear – but many actors still aren’t sure what to do next. The Priority Actions draw on the collective expertise of civil society to highlight urgent yet practical steps that have the potential to catalyze broader, systemic change. These agenda-setting publications help actors move from intent to impact.

Submission to the COP30 Deforestation Roadmap

Our letter to the COP30 Presidency

In April 2026, the Forest Declaration Assessment submitted a formal response to the COP30 Presidency’s call for inputs to the Roadmap for halting and reversing deforestation and forest degradation by 2030.

Our letter sets out priority actions and leverage points that we believe are essential for turning the 2030 ambition into implementable national and subnational commitments. The content of our submission is entirely drawn from the Priority Actions for Governments and the Priority Actions for DCF Finance.
